Creative Tip: The Holiday Parking Lot

December creativity has a special kind of sparkle, it’s joyful, inspired, emotional, nostalgic, sometimes chaotic, and almost always fleeting. Ideas appear when you're baking, making hot cocoa, or standing in line at Target. They’re bright, fun, clever, and gone in seconds if you don’t grab them.

This is why I swear by a "Creative Parking Lot." It’s not a perfect sketchbook or a curated notebook, it’s messy, random, and honest. It’s where I drop anything that could be something: a phrase, a color palette, a conversation snippet, a design idea that isn’t fully formed. You don’t have to finish it now. You just have to log it now. Capture it. Park it.

Because January? January needs those ideas. January creativity works slower, with less flair. Future-you will thank you for the ideas you think of now.
