Remember When Shouting "Not It" Was an Effective Way of Getting Out of Doing Things?
Remember holiday season as a kid?
Just yell “NOT IT!” and you were instantly off the hook for things like:
🎄 Untangling the box of Christmas lights
🦌 Wearing the itchy reindeer costume for the school program
🚗 Sitting in the middle on the way to grandma's house
🎁 Helping carry all of the presents in from the car
📸 Standing still for “just ONE more picture” (lie)
Fast forward to adulthood, our “Not it!” powers mysteriously disappeared.
Now maybe you're trying (and failing) to “Not It” your way out of:
📝 Coordinating the community holiday fundraiser flyers
🪩 Designing festive graphics for the business page
🎟️ Making the holiday event tickets “look cute but also professional”
📅 Creating the December social media calendar (and making it look purposeful)
🧾 Making the gift certificates, menus, or special promos not look like a Word doc
Somehow, shouting “Not it!” no longer gets us out of tasks we don't love or just aren't necessarily "good at." But I have good news! When it comes to designing your holiday promotions, graphics, mailers, event flyers, branded gift certificates, or making your business look festive without losing it's professionalism, you don’t have to say “not it.” You can just say “Kelly’s got it.”
Humor me! What was the one thing you just HAD TO get out of doing during the holidays growing up??
